Trevor Lane
The association was saddened to learn of the death of Trevor Lane, the founder of Ladder & Fencing Industries (LFI) in 1948 and a former president of the British Ladder Manufacturers' Association (BLMA). A stalwart of the industry, he devoted a major part of his life to the manufacture of access equipment and the development of ladder standards and best practice. Comments his grandson, David Walker, current MD of LFI and himself a past president of the association: "Despite retiring in the late 1970's, he maintained a genuine interest in the industry and was keen to keep abreast of the latest trends and issues." Trevor Lane died on 19 September 2009 aged 97.
