SAFETY & HEALTH EXPO will again be the main showcase for the Access Industry Forum (AIF), the umbrella organisation representing the principal trade bodies and associations connected with working at height. Using professional actors and taking as its theme the HSE's & "Shattered Lives" campaign, the Forum will act out a number of different scenarios designed to reinforce the central message of the campaign: “Don't chance it…change it.” Using mobile elevating work platforms, scaffolding, mobile access towers and ladders, the Forum will demonstrate the dos and don'ts of working at height in a lively, entertaining and informative way. Work at Height Seminar Theatre Rather than a formal conference, the Forum has opted to run the Work at Height Seminar Theatre. It hopes this will give visitors the opportunity to pick and choose the topics of immediate interest in their everyday work. Free of charge, the presentations will run over all three days of the event. Topics include: Training for Operational Safety (IRATA); Ladders and Stepladders – Myths and Misconceptions (Ladder Association); High Time for Low Level Access (PASMA); Are your MEWPS Safe? (IPAF) and The Latest Developments in Scaffolding (NASC). Actively supported by the HSE, Rog Thomson of HSE Aberdeen will deliver Learning from Offshore Work at Height and John Holland of HSE London will address some of the key issues surrounding the "Shattered Lives" campaign. It promises to be a valuable and worthwhile three days. Forum members will again pull out all the stops to provide visitors with practical help and advice connected with working at height as it continues its drive to improve safety and standards in the fast growing access sector.
