Our second national conference – staying one step ahead in your industry – is open for bookings until the closing date of February 21st 2018.
The event, which runs from March 22nd – 23rd 2018 at the Hatherley Manor Hotel, Gloucester, is set to explore hot industry topics, including:
The Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) and PAS 7100 – planning to protect consumers
OPSS is a new national oversight body tasked with identifying consumer risks and managing responses to product recalls. Together with Publicly Available Specification (PAS) 7100 – which sets criteria for handling product recalls – these will have profound changes for the way manufacturers and retailers handle product safety.
A representative from OPSS will be on hand to give insight into what this means for the future.
The Safety Perspective – a view from the Safety Officer
Join safety consultants and a representative from The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) for a panel session on how safety guidance – including the use of ladders – is influenced on sites and in the home.
Product Standards – are they helping or hindering our sector?
From EN 131, BS 8634, BS 2037 to BS 1129, are product standards helping our industry or creating such confusion that buyers and users are turning to alternative access arrangements? A panel of experts discuss the merits and drawbacks of product standards.
Delegates of the Conference will also get to experience a part of ladder history.
When the venue was under the occupation of 3-times Gloucester mayor, Anthony Gilbert Jones in the mid-19th century, his son Charles Allen Jones was busy at work on a new patent. Charles – the seventh of 9 siblings, and youngest son, developed what would later be known as the forerunner of the modern stepladder – the Hatherley Lattistep.
If you’re involved in the ladder industry – any shape or form, member or non-member – this is a must-attend event to stay in the know with key developments in the ladder industry.
A selection of tickets are available – including a Priority option – which includes stay-over at the venue and a seat at the Chairman’s dinner and fundraiser on Thursday 22nd.
Numbers are limited, so be sure to book today to avoid disappointment.
