Following on from his appearance on ‘The Roofing Show’ in February, our Executive Director, Peter Bennett OBE, was a guest this week on another of Fix Radio’s popular podcasts – ‘The Electrical Show’.

Peter joined host Thomas Nagy to discuss the dangers faced by electricians while working at height. They managed to cover a whole host of ladder topics during their short chat; from the risks involved in working at height (not just in the electrical sector but across all sectors), the challenge of getting hold of the granular reporting data around the cause of falls from height, the main causes of accidents and how to avoid them, as well as the need for training for both ladder users and managers.

Thomas agreed there’s a complacency around ladder use with tradespeople, and of course, he mentioned the age-old saying, ‘it’ll never happen to me’.

We’re sure the podcast will have given the listeners not only some practical tips, but also food for thought the next time they reach for their ladder.
