The Ladder Association is delighted to welcome onboard our first training member in Southeast Asia to support our long-term growth plans and growing interest in ladder training in the region.
SAE Resources and Technologies Pte Ltd (SAE), based in Singapore, are a well-known, respected provider of a range of temporary access solutions including scaffolding, mobile access towers and ladders, and are the latest to join the Ladder Association’s growing global member base. SAE are committed to high standards of safety, reliability and quality, as demonstrated through their existing accreditation with PASMA1, with whom they hold both Training and Hirer/Dealer Membership.
Falls from height remain a major cause of work-related fatalities and injuries in Singapore, accounting for almost a third of total workplace fatalities every year2. Recent reports show that, despite a drop in total work at height related fatalities and injuries in 2020, those involving ladders represent 73% of the total (an increase from 67% in 2019)3. By becoming an approved Ladder Association training centre, SAE are looking to meet the growing demand for accredited ladder training in the region, and help educate companies and workers on how to prevent falls from height when using ladders.
Comments Mr Edward Tan, Light Access Team Leader at SAE, “We are honoured to be the first approved Ladder Association training member in Southeast Asia. Having worked in the light access industry for almost 40 years, I’m pleased to use my knowledge to have successfully completed the Ladder Association’s Instructor Training Programme, alongside my colleague Samsir Bin Mohd Alley. We recently delivered our first ‘Ladders and Stepladders for Users’ course, which was very well received by delegates, and we look forward to training many more in the coming months.”
Sarah Nunn, Head of International Development at the Ladder Association said, “It has been a privilege to work with Edward and his team in achieving their goal to become a Ladder Association training member, and even more so as they are the first in the Southeast region. Their ongoing commitment to safety and standards is clear to see and we’re delighted to have them join us as both Training and Supplier members.”
